I am overwhelmed with the amazing outpouring of love and support since I was terminated approximately nine months ago. The hundreds of phone calls, emails, and letters have carried us through these difficult days. As many of you have noted, I, too, am stunned and grieved by the Trustees recent decision to overturn the Grievance Committee's recommendation for my reinstatement. After eighth months of careful deliberation, the Grievance Committee, which was comprised of five faculty members (two appointed by the President, two elected by the faculty, and the chair of the Faculty Committee to the President), ruled that the accusations against me were unfounded. Even more disappointing is that this ruling occurred with a refusal from the Board of Trustees to meet or even discuss these matters with me despite several requests that I made to interact with them.
Please pray that God will grant my wife and I wisdom during this very difficult time. We certainly do not want anything to rob us of the joy surrounding the birth of our first child, Jenna Katarina (April 28!!!) In addition, we do not want to address these events in a flippant or cavalier manner as the testimony of Christ and the reputation of Cedarville are at stake.
In Christ,
David Hoffeditz

Dear Prayer Partners,
Contrary to public opinion, I have NOT taken any legal action against Cedarville University or any party associated with the institution. It has been, and still is, my desire for restoration at CU. Please continue to pray as I wait patiently for the Trustees' final verdict.
In the spirit of reconciliation,
David M. Hoffeditz

Dear Prayer Partners,
I regret to inform you that I have to delete my previous statement of praise and prayer request due to the threat of legal action against me. While we could discuss the legitimacy of this demand, for the sake of potential reconciliation, we have complied with this demand.
We are so thankful to all of you who have expressed your love and concern these past eight months. Please know we covet your ongoing prayers as my wife and I seek restoration and reconciliation. The Lord bless you!!
